Description
Composition & 7 string electric guitar: Naochika Sogabe
I play a 7-string guitar with my fingers. Using various finger picking techniques, I draw out a wide range of sounds from this instrument and create new forms of musical expression.
Using a capo on a 7-string guitar might seem illogical – people usually play it for its deep bass sound.
I play the 7-string guitar here because of its wider range at each fret position. I also have more open bass notes – like a lute. I play bass lines, chords, and melodies simultaneously with my fingers. Using a capo gives me a wider melodic range, even when I have to hold down a bass note.
An Extended version is also available.
